Dear Rabbi Melamed, I read your paragraphs on Brit Milah with great interest and it seems that your words confirm a (for lack of a better word) fear that I have had regarding the brit milah of my grandson. He was born on Shabbat by caesarian section but was totally healthy and yet both the rabbi of our yishuv and the mohel said that the halacha regarding this situation was to delay the brit until Sunday morning, basically, the 9th day. They say this this is based on the Rambam, that to do the brit milah on Shabbat for this baby would be to desecrate the Sabbath. I cant imagine that doing the holy brit milah could ever desecrate any day, let alon Shabbat!. So I feel that my grandson was circumcised on the wrong day and even the Rambam can be wrong. Thank you for listening. Sincerely, Richard Markowitz, Zufim, Western Shomron
